Applying Scripture

Hi Everyone,

For my last post tonight, I just wanted to mention something that I have noticed since getting saved. It is absolutely amazing, since getting saved, how much EASIER IT IS to actually apply Scripture to my life and truly want to do that! Before it was like this major chore---but it isn't like that anymore. I am so eager to become more like Jesus Christ--the One who saved me!

Now, let me also clarify that this does not mean in any sense that I have arrived. There are things that I struggle to apply, but there is a much more general over all easy-ness concerning taking the Word of God and not just simply reading it, but applying it.

May God continue to shape each and every one of us as we apply His Word and to our lives and watch Him transform us, little by little. I want to encourage you that if you are struggling to apply the Word, ask the Holy Spirit to help you to know how to and show you how to apply what you are learning--little by little---obviously every area of our lives does not automatically change at once...we are all in process!

James 1:22-25 "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does."

I used to really not like these verses before I got saved---it was like they were condemnation or being "preached at me" somehow or something, but now, I think they are really neat.

Lord, help us all to accurately apply your Word to our lives today. Lead us by your Holy Spirit so that we nay all become more like You!
