How He Loves Me!

Hi Everyone,

God gives us really amazing good gifts! I know the rest of the world wouldn't care too much about this one, but earlier this summer I had mentioned a song sung by Wayne Watson, called "No Need." About a week ago, I out of curiosity typed in "Wayne Watson. Working in the Final Hour" into amazon.com and found that a few copies of an album on cassette that to my knowledge is no longer being published were still available...and I bought one.

It arrived in the mail yesterday...when in some ways, I was having a challenging day.

And so last night, I sat downstairs near the cassette player here at the House of Hope and must have played "No Need" and "How He Loves Me" over about fifteen times----I just hadn't heard the songs for sooo long! And hearing them again and thinking of the words and what I now KNOW---a LIVING relationship with Jesus---just put me in a place of awe!

I love the words to Wayne Watson's song, "How He loves me!" Take a look at them and read them--even if you are normally accustomed to skipping through the songs I post. This one dates back to 1980, and Wayne told me in an e-mail that it was the first song he had ever written!!!! Good stuff!!!

How He Loves Me

How He loves me, I'll never know
But I'll return it, and I'll watch it grow.
How much he loves me, it's easy to see
One look at the Savior, hung on a tree, hung on a tree.

How He loves me, every day
When I don't listen, when I go my own way.
How He loves me, time and again
Even in stumbling, even in sin.

His Holy arms will never embrace
My act of rebellion, my life of disgrace
But with one stroke of the blood it erased
My sin inside.

Confess it (confess it)
He said He'll remove it (remove it)
Promised to remember it no more (no more!)

How can I love Him? How can I prove
My simple devotion, my undying love?
Serving my brother, helping a friend,
When somebody needs me, to offer my help.

My feeble words can never convey
The measure of love that I'm called to obey.
There's a time to talk, and a time to pray
But right now, let's be doing (be doing)
Get on with the serving (Get on with the serving)
Lay aside your foolish pride, open your eyes,
And let the caring begin.

How He loves me, not me alone!
the weary are welcome to come to the throne!
Simply believe on, trust in His Word
Look unto Jesus, rest in the Lord,
Rest in the Lord, Rest in the Lord!

Just a side note----to my surprise I got Wayne Watson's permission to take that copy of the cassette and turn it into two CD's one for myself to preserve it (since we know that cassette isn't going to last very long!) and to share it with my parents as well (They played that album on vinyl in our record player since I was probably three or four or so!) Well.....it goes back as far as I can remember! GOD IS GOOD!!!! NEVER THOUGHT I COULD HAVE SO MUCH FUN WITH SPENDING ten bucks!!!

Thank you so much for adding the lyrics to How He Loves Me. It was one of my favorite songs as a teenager and I've been looking for it for a long time, to no avail. I knew it was by Wayne Watson and I cannot find it on itunes. The words are precious and I copied them down when I read them on your blog and would surely love to hear him sing it again. I googled the words and your sweet ministry update appeared! God is good!!! I'm praying that you have a blessed day!
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Lynda
