Identity In Christ---Part 2

Hi Everyone,

There is a video about four posts below for today as well of you are interested. I promise I will be in class tomorrow--so I won't be blogging like this.......maybe some of you can get a little more caught up.

But I was thinking about the things that I said this morning about our identity in Christ, and it isn't just that it's God's love for us that impacts our identity in Christ, but it is also the fact that when we TRUST Christ for salvation, we really do have a NEW identity.

Prior to conversion we were enslaved to sin, but now sin is no longer our master. We still sin, but now we can choose to obey God.

And rather than being identified with sin, we are identified with Christ--we are HIS followers, disciples, children. Christ is our reward.

1 Peter 2:4-10 'As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says:
"See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame." Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
"The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone," and,
"A stone that causes men to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall." They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."

Colossians 3:1-4 "Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory."

This is DEEP WONDERFUL TRUTH!!!!
I have a feeling that we will be talking about some of these topics during the training this week......and maybe I am partly writing so much because God is preparing my heart for that! But this is the last blog post for today so enjoy the others below......and Lord Willing I will see you all tomorrow!
