Sanctification-- Christ Enables Us

HI Everyone,

There is something we don't grasp about sanctification. There is a tendency in the church for us to think that after we get saved by trusting Christ, our process of sanctification and becoming more like Him is something we have to "work, work, work at--in our own strength>"

But we've got it all wrong if we are viewing it that way. There is a sense of co-operating with Him, but He is the One that does the work in and through us.

Philippians 2:12-13 "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose."

Colossians 2:6-7 "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

Apart from HIM, We will accomplish nothing in and of our own flesh and strength.
