My First Visitor!

Hi Everyone,

It has been awhile sine my last blog post again. :( Things have just been incredibly busy and will continue to be on through July.

This week I took care of a team mates house and dog while they were away. This allowed me to connect with all kinds of people that I hadn't seen since way before November 2009 when I was home in the States--so when I have a chance to get to that area of town again, I have some serious catching up to do with several of them on a more one-on-one level.

Today, I also had my very first visitor to come and see me since being on the field! (Very special!) The lady who was then in charge of the ladies dorm, Mary Cano, when I was at language study in Texas wrote me about a week ago and said she was coming down and wanted to see me! It was so cool to see her again, We had a quick lunch together and will be meeting again tomorrow morning, which I am also looking forward to-Things will hopefully be more relaxed.

So I am scrambling back out the door to get to mission trip practice for the  evening-had to run home and take care of a few things first. Thanks for your prayers everyone.

Update

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for your prayers regarding the team building and prayer day today. We had an ongoing training time that was very insightful for me personally in many ways.

This blog has been getting neglected again :( I have had a lot of things going on lately-several long days with various things going on. One excitement was that my youth group invited some of the kids from Puebla (where we had gone to a youth event in March) to come to Cuernavaca the weekend before last. It was really fun to hang out together. I was with them only on Saturday (they had arrived Friday night) because I attended a women's event at church on Friday evening instead. Sometimes I feel divided about which activities to attend. Culturally, because I am single I am considered a "youth." The kids in the youth group are great, but sometimes I try to go to the women's activities as well-to get to know the ladies in church better and stuff, and I also recognize that I am at a different place in life than many of the youth in my church. However, i do truly appreciate being a part of most things they are involved in.

Preparation and practices on Sunday afternoons for our mission trip to Michoacan July 8th thru the 17th continues on Sunday afternoons. We get a break this Sunday due to the fact that many churches will have Father's Day celebrations.

Starting Saturday I will be house sitting and taking care of a team member's dog for a week, while they are out of town. Since I have some friends that I haven't seen for awhile that live in the area nearby where I will be staying, I am hoping to make effort to connect with them and renew some relationships.

Thank you for your prayers. Will do my best to update again soon (and not have another week and a half in between the next update.)
